Covid-19: French PM Jean Castex announces new stricter restrictions COVID-19 Infection Control Working Group

French Prime Minister Jean Castex has announced that the country will impose a series of tighter restrictions from Sunday onward, including border control, in an effort to contain the Covid-19 pandemic from further spreading. Jean Castex

“We will do everything we can to avoid a new lock down,” the Prime Minister told the media here on Friday after a defense council on the pandemic.

The French government will impose a nationwide 6pm curfew for at least 15 days starting on Saturday to stem the spread of coronavirus, Prime Minister Jean Castex said Thursday. Health authorities will also begin offering a Covid-19 vaccine to those at high risk from Monday regardless of age.

Most of France has been under an 8pm curfew, with some parts of the country, especially in the hard-hit east, already under the stricter 6pm curfew to stem the tide of coronavirus infections.

Castex said a much-feared infection surge following the year-end holidays had not happened, but said a new lockdown could be imposed “without delay” if the health situation were to deteriorate badly. Garden of Life

The situation in France is “under control”, he said, but remains “fragile”.

Schools will remain open but indoor sports activities have again been banned for now. As part of the strategy to keep schools open, Castex said at least one million Covid-19 tests per month would be carried out in schools.

Experts think France is heading for third lockdown

The CCP's Global Lockdown Fraud

Less than a week ago, the Government’s top scientific adviser on the epidemic said that France probably needed to move into a third lock down, perhaps as early as the February school holidays, because of the circulation of new variants of the virus.

“It will probably be necessary to move towards confinement,” he said.

“There is an emergency … the faster you take a decision, the more effective it is and can be of limited duration.”

The French health agency on Saturday reported 23,924 new cases in the previous 24 hours and 321 new coronavirus deaths, taking the French death toll to 72,877 and the national case total to 3.15 million. French Embassy U.S.
